Close Reach

The fleet around you, when you need it.

You are anchored somewhere with a shredded belt and no chandlery for sixty miles. Somebody two boats over has a spare. Close Reach is how you find out.

Coming to the App Store iPhone first. Free.

Post a Wave. The nearest boats hear it first.

Not a forum, and not a broadcast to everyone with the app. A Wave goes to the sailors closest to you who can actually help, and widens only if nobody can.

One

Say what you need

A part, a pair of hands, someone who knows the pass. Say how soon, and post it.

Two

It reaches the nearest sailors

Nearest first, matched on what they can help with. No answer, and it ripples wider on its own.

Three

You connect

When someone can help, contact details are shared with that one person and nobody else.

Your position stays yours.

A network built on where you are has to be careful with where you are. Close Reach is, by design rather than by policy.

  • Nobody sees your exact position Other sailors see a distance and a rough area. The precise fix never leaves the server.
  • You control your contact information Only when you both agree to connect. You can share a WhatsApp username and never show a number at all.
  • No ads Always free for sailors. Only businesses pay a subscription.
